    We had a wonderful stay at Miwok Escapes. The house is very clean, spacious and light, with a beautiful well-appointed kitchen. We enjoyed watching the deer and quail go by and on a clear evening the sunsets are spectacular. It’s a quiet peaceful setting prefect for star-gazing from the upper deck. We love that we could bring our dog too.

    This house was great and beyond our expectations! The kitchen is fully equipped so don’t bother bringing anything but your food and any special spices. The appliances were top quality and has all essential small appliances. The bedrooms were comfy and the entire house was very clean. It’s great for your dog too with a place for them to potty. The living area is very comfortable and spacious. Great windows and in a quiet residential area. Bring your own food because groceries stores are limited. Overall we would go back to this great escape! 💕

    We (grandparents, kids, grandkids)had a good stay in Miwok Escape. The house was laid out well for our family. Master bed and bath are very nice, as is the great room. Salmon Creek location is great with good walking or driving access to the beaches.

    First and foremost, we enjoyed our stay at Miwok Escape and look forward to renting it again in the future. We endorse the house and the property management company as it pertains to this visit. Upon arrival, we found the Miwok Escape house to match the online description of it, which is good, no surprises. Overall, the house was clean and had everything we needed for our cooking needs in the kitchen. The hot tub felt warm and was working, but we didn't use it as we had a pretty busy schedule otherwise. One thing I would call out is that the upstairs bathroom did not have any shades or shutters in the bathroom. Maybe the windows have protective reflection on the outside, but it may be unsettling for some people to be stepping into a shower when you can look out the window from the shower and see neighbor's houses directly and not be able to close a blind or shutter. To be clear, the neighbors would need to be using a scope or camera to really see details, but I am mentioning this nonetheless as fyi. One other item is that the two downstairs rooms may not be tied to the heater system. The property management or owner could correct me if I am wrong, but we didn't find a thermostat for downstairs. We ran the heater from the thermostat upstairs, and the upstairs stayed at the temperature as set, but the downstairs remained cooler. This was not a factor into the enjoyment of our visit, as the members of our trip staying in the downstairs were plenty warm in their beds with the covers provided. However, when it was non-sleeping time, we mostly were all together upstairs in the heated area by choice, not due to temperature. So, it wasn't an impact to us. Also, I did see some plug-in space heaters downstairs in the closets. In closing, and as I started this review out with, we were very happy with the house and with the property management company, and we would not hesitate to rent this again. And, if you like wildlife, we saw deer and quail from the porch.

    Starting in the year of Covid, this was our sixth stay at this delightful dwelling. A superb location within a short walk to beach, it is nestled in the sand dunes, with a plethora of windows to see wonderful scenery and has many skylights to brighten a lovely interior. Well managed and maintained it is our favorite rental on this stretch of the coast, so much so we already booked the Same Time Next Year, and yes we like it better than the Heritage House, our prior favorite.

    This home made for a great few days for my card making friend and myself. This is our fourth year of renting with Bodega Bay Escapes and we were so pleased with this home that we are renting it again for next year. It has everything. The kitchen had every appliance one would ever need. We did have trouble getting the oven up to temp and eventually gave up after several tries. Miwok Escapes offered much space and counters for us to spread out and enjoy crafting. The deck off of the main area upstairs is perfect for respite and one could hear waves breaking. The staff at Bodega Bay Escapes met and responded to our every need. They are super. We look forward to another fun and fabulous time next year at this beautifully maintained home and commend the owners and everyone at Bodega Bay Escapes involved!

    I came here for my birthday, and I was not disappointed. The house was so cozy and spacious, and it really felt like the owners did not cut corners. It was a perfect location in that there are still neighbors around, but not too close, and the beach and creek are only a short walk away. We loved our master bedroom and cozy bed. There were plenty of blankets for the bedroom(s) and living room to help us stay cozy. The hot tub was also wonderful, although we couldn’t get half of the jets to work.

    One silly thing: at 1am, we swore we heard a saxophone that was quiet enough that it sounded like it must be coming from outside. I went outside to investigate, but could only hear the ocean. It turns out the refrigerator plays a soft (non-intrusive) sax at 1am! Fancy!

    We are so in love with this fun beach house, the proximity to the beach and Salmon Creek neighborhood. Miwok Escape, as the house is called, was perfect for my family. The great room, with an ocean view was our gathering spot. It was large enough to prepare meals,watch TV and do art projects at the table. The bedrooms are very private. The BBQ and hot tub were an added bonus.

    Nice place. Many good things. Very spacious, ample wood supply, great kitchen, well kept bedrooms, plenty of windows, large hot tub, clean home, quiet location, close to town, WiFi works, etc. Only a few things of note for guests; all beaches in Salmon Creek do not allow pets, bring your own deck chairs, couches and carpets getting worn, and some lights not working.

    This is a perfect place for a family or couple to relax by the beach. The open floor plan makes it feel very roomy and plenty of privacy for each couple. If you plan on cooking big meals this is the perfect huge and very well stocked kitchen!!We bbq, sat in the spa and on the deck watching the sun rise and set each day. We also like the salmon creek area with its own beach!! You can walk ( 5-7 min) or take a short drive to get there and it’s never crowded! We always try to find a place in salmon creek and this place we will definitely return too!!

    Exceptional rental in a beautiful location. The house is set up wonderfully for interaction in the open kitchen, dining, living room space. The bedrooms are well sized and the mattresses very comfortable. Location is great with easy access to both beach and prairie trail. Did I mention the hot tub?

The hot tub was wonderful and the beds were comfortable.     great kitchen with pro 6 burner stove. was perfect for our extended family gathering. BBQ worked, but was too small to do anything other than a few burgers... was fine, but seemed odd when compared to the size of the stove. Hot tub was in a nice private
    spot on the outside of the house. stereo in the living room worked well once we figured out how to connect the ipod to it (needed a cable with RCA connectors). all in all, very happy with our stay.

    The home was perfect and the location was very close to the beach and had a view of the ocean. There was a tv in all the rooms and the house came well equipped. The small markets in Bodega Bay were expansive but we found a Safeway of 116 that is located in Sebastopol that was about 20 min drive from the Miwok home. The property management was excellent and very helpful in giving information about the area, they also had a library of DVDs that they rented at no charge which I thought was a nice touch. I will rent from them again.

    What a great property. We have stayed in nearly 2-dozen different homes between the Bodega Bay golf course and Sereno del Mar, and this is certainly in the top 5. The two couples we brought with us for our annual clam dig had a great time. Our kids chased up and down the stairs for hours and even took a quick dip in the hot tub. The walk to the ocean was the perfect distance and parking was plentiful.
    Only thing I would ask for is more silverware as we had to wash things after a meal or two. Otherwise the house was very well stocked and handled our big evening party with no issues.

    Our family spent the president's day weekend at Miwok Escape. It is in Salmon Creek, which is our favorite area to stay at Bodega Bay. The property was awesome; we have only good things to say! We used the grill every night, soaked in the hot tub, built cozy fires, played games, and enjoyed the beach every day. The kitchen was well equipped. I loved cooking on the Viking stove; what a treat! We had to check in late which was no problem for the management company; they accommodated us with no complaints.     My only suggestion is to do something with the hot tub. It runs all night and day and is loud.

    Also there was not much room for garbage. Understood the need for keeping it inside with animals. I think there was some left from last renters.

    We spent three nights here with my girl friends mother and another friend. The living area is very spacious and the kitchen is well equipped. The bedrooms are large and the master bath has a walk-in shower with two shower heads - always a favorite with us. Lot's of nice touches in the layout and design. Only downside for us was that while there is essentially nothing between you and the beach you can only see the ocean and not the waves crashing on the beach. We really enjoyed our stay and would book this again in a heartbeat.

    We had a wonderful time walking on the beach. My grandchildren have been to Salmon Creek since they were little; they are now 14, 12 and 9. This is our first stay at Miwok Escape and it was GREAT. Two of us hiked the Pomo Canyon trail and to the top of Red Hill. The spa delighted some and the TV entertained some with a Giants Baseball game. (We have some avid fans in our family.) An unexpected sight: I turned off my reading light and noticed how dark it made the room. I looked at the large window and it was filled with stars.
    We cook all of our meals and the kitchen is beautiful and had all the dishes, cooking pots and pans we needed. The home was clean and well maintained. The staff at Bodega Bay Escapes was helpful and friendly on every contact. I would recommend this property.

    This house is a short walk to the beach in a pretty secluded area. The house itself is well appointed but a little dated. The dishwasher leaks, the refrigerator leaks and the outside trash was full when we arrived. It's great if you want to spend a lot of time relaxing in the hot tub and cooking because Bodega Bay doesn't have many restaurants that are open for dinner, but you will have to do all your dishes by hand. If you bring your dog to this house you will have to drive to a beach you can take them to. Also being instructed to strip the sheets from the beds upon departure when charging a $265 cleaning fee seemed a bit excessive.

    There was 9 of us 5 adults and 4 children and it was perfect. The children had room to run around and the furniture and beds were perfect for us. The hot tub was warm but there were no instructions or ability to change the temperature or even turn all the jets off, so some stayed on the whole time (4 days) We really appreciated that the property management came the 1st day to help us figure out how to use the tv system, and start/turn on the heater.     We left some written comments with the info we dropped off when checking out. The only thing to add is re: the grill. I know you can't control what renters will do, only ask them to take care of this or that. But, the grill, while a very nice one, was really dirty and clearly had not been cleaned for awhile. The grill itself, the bowl of the grill, and especiailly the drip pan were awful. It would help if a wire brush was available to clean the grill top itself. Otherwise, I made do with a scrubbing bush I bought to do the grill bowl and drip pan (and some elbow greasef). Great trip and house, and hopefully we'll see you again next year for Thanksgiving.     Miwok Escape is a spacious home nestled in the dunes north of Bodega Bay. Sunsets from the deck, fires in the woodstove, and walks to the beach were incredible. Some parts of the house itself could use some refreshing and repairing, but we enjoyed the great room layout and all the space to cook in the kitchen. It's not fancy, but it's a good value given all the space and works well for two families to share.

    Pros:The house was in a serene and relaxing location with a wonderful view of the ocean. The common area was warm and inviting. The couches were big enough for everyone to sit together and the TV channels were good. The house was beautiful and the spa was amazing. It was close to town but not in the hustle and bustle. The bathrooms were gorgeous and the house was beautifully decorated.The price was doable the kitchen was fully stocked so we could cook.

    Cons: The door stuck and could only be opened with a key, every time, so we had to continue to open the door for anyone who went outside. The refrigerator was in the garage downstairs, which we didn't know about until the day before. It says it slept seven but only had 5 towels. The outside lights didn't work and the upstairs toilet clogged twice. It was also quite a ways farther to the beach than first expected.

    Miwok Escape was a wonderful experience in Bodega Bay. Three of us women meet once a year in February to see each other and enjoy eachother's company. The house was very clean and the company Bodega Escapes was very helpful. We used the very relaxing hot tub. It was very rainy all weekend so we were happy to get to use it the first night. The coffee maker did not work, and we did not bring any Keurig pods for the Keurig maker. We wished there were some board games or puzzles, because the rain kept us inside for most of the weekend. We did watch movies on the TV through our streaming services. The bathroom on the bottom floor was okay, we liked the big shower on the top floor better.
    Overall, it was a fun weekend.

    The house was very spacious, had a lot of areas for socializing. the rooms were of good size & comfortable.The kitchen was fully loaded. Couple of things that weren't quite up to par the wood stove there was wood but no kidding or any way to start a fire. The hot tub is getting kind of old and the Jets weren't very powerful, a set of four Jets hardly worked at all but other than that, it was a perfect stay.

    The home has a great layout and huge living space which was perfect for our group. We were celebrating a wedding at schoolhouse beach and the home was the meeting place for everyone. The built in refrigerator was broken so the owner had purchased a temporary replacement which was put in the garage. Out of the 6 of us staying there, only one of us could handle the stairs to fetch from the fridge. No discount was offered. The carpets are really dirty, stained and the walls could use a coat of paint. It served us well though!

    Location, location, location: quiet, peaceful, great views to the ocean, deer wandering by every day, easy drive into Bodega Bay for restaurants, supplies. Nice kitchen well equipped, great kitchen table, nice Viking gas range. Nice master bath with huge shower.
    The negatives: new TV but no instructions on how to work, no list of cable channels. No CD player, no VCR, TV's in bedrooms play only DVD---no TV reception. Freezer side of refrig hardly working---ice cream a gooie mess.
    No light bulbs in bedroom lamps, no kleenix in bathrooms, bring your own bar soap 'cause there is none. Good thing it's not far to the market in town! Beds mediocre, good pillows and sheets,though. Very poor cell phone reception. Spa very loud when on. When off, the shut off electrical box buzzes 24/7, and is annoying for guests in the lower bedroom where that box is mounted on the exterior wall. No easy chairs for reading, no patio furniture, nice Weber gas barbeque needs cleaning badly (lots of grease in lower pan started a fire the first time we used it). I think we'll leave it at that. This place just needs some maintenance and TLC to get it shining again!
