Mary's Place

Bodega Harbour South - Mary's Place is a 4 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom home with great views of Bodega Head and the Pacific Ocean. Spacious living room with adjoing dining room, kitchen and deck. The deck spans nearly the whole front of the house and has big ocean views. Three bedrooms, and two bathrooms upstairs, one bedroom, 1 bathroom downstairs. Also downstairs is a large den with pool table, wet bar flat screen TV, sleeper sofa, and patio outside with a large hot tub. Mary's place is a great family home with plenty of room to spread out, and completely private upstairs and downstairs areas. Large George Foreman Electric Grill.

  Three bedrooms and three and a half baths upstairs, one bedroom and bath downstairs. We love the house but for all of us a TV upstairs would be very helpful, as some have trouble with the steep stairwell.
  A glass of wine and a movie after dinner is just what we needed after a fun day exploring.

  Love coming to Bodega Bay every year for the crabbing and the views! Bodega Bay Escapes has been my family’s go to vacation rental company for many years and they have always been kind, professional and accommodating! I would highly recommend their services to anyone looking to stay in Bodega Bay with the comforts of having all home amenities at your disposal. Mary’s Place is a beautiful home and perfect for a large family of up to 10. It actually is my favorite home so far and we have stayed at many different homes throughout the years. The views of the ocean from the home are breathtaking! The house overall was very comfortable. Rooms are behind doors with little hallways between the main living area so it was nice and quiet for sleeping. We did have a slight issue with the propane tank running out during our visit but the team at Bodega Bay Escapes did everything they could to get the propane company out to the house as quickly as possible and were accommodating of our needs while we waited. If you have a large family, love being comfortable, love ocean views, this is the place for you!

  1. Nice view - We stayed for 3 nights in August. The view was lovely and I liked that it was on a cul-de-sac.
  
  2. Great layout for quieter bedrooms. The king room and a queen room, both with bathrooms, had a small hall between them as well as an added door to block living room noise. On the other side of the living room was a bedroom with 2 twins and a neighboring bathroom, again situated behind a 2nd door separating the sleeping area from the rest of the living room. Downstairs was a similar situation where a Queen room and neighboring bathroom were located behind an added door, for sound reduction from the den. It didn't block sound from the room above, but it did from the den.
  
  3. The kitchen was well stocked and the place was neat and clean.
  
  4. Nice bar area downstairs with sink & fridge, TV, futon, & couch.
  
  5. I liked that there was just a little TV in the kitchen and a large one downstairs. We ladies could visit in the living room and kitchen (or deck or downstairs outside table) while the guys could watch a game downstairs.
  
  6. We wished there were more washcloths - only 1 per person for a 3 night stay and none in the closets. We ended up buying some in town. There was a washer and dryer in the unit but it would have been a small load with just washcloths. I usually like to have at least 1 per day, preferably 2.
  
  7. Sheets for the futon in the den would have been helpful. Fortunately we had a sleeping bag along. Plenty of pillows and blankets in the closets - we just couldn't find more sheets or washcloths.
  
  8. Hot tub is very chlorinated and bleached my daughter's swimsuit - be sure to rinse after!
  
  9. Lastly, heed the warning about not leaving food out... we left a low window open in the kitchen adjacent to the deck overnight and some critter (probably a raccoon?) broke through the low screen and got into 2 loaves of bread & 2 desserts off of the table and kitchen counter! Both pans we

We love the house for so many reasons: the gorgeous panoramic ocean view, lovely home, plenty of parking, the skylights let lots of light into the main living space, and it accommodates our group of 9 comfortably.   It is one of the best stocked homes we've rented. Overall arrangement good. Loved the hot tub and the beautiful views. Convenient kitchen. Nicely furnished. Our family gathered from all over California to celebrate 80th and 50th birthdays. We just enjoyed hanging out at the house, and the beach. Of course it helped that we had perfect weather. We appreciated the special winter offer of three nights for the price of two. That actually was the factor that led us to choose Mary's Place over another home at Dillon Beach.   Almost 25 years ago a group of us women from the same street (Scrubs) have been getting together in different locations for a long weekend with no kids, no husbands/signifigant other to just let our hair down, relax, have fun, and laugh. Mary's Place allows for all of us to have our space, cook our food and a central spot for games and more laughs. We did have a minor shower mishap, placed a call to the property mgr on saturday morning and they had a maintenance man there within the hour - those of you that know Bodega Bay, that is almost unheard of. I highly recommend both the home and the rental agency!

  Daughter & I arrived Thursday - one day before everyone else! Great anticipation, beautiful drive! Looking forward to a special time with my kids and grandkids and hadn't had a vacation in 3 years. Friday morning we noticed the downstairs shower was only a trickle, in checking around found the BBQ was left dirty, cobwebs hanging in living room & master bedroom. (I got them down with the broom) then my daughter noticed black mold in the upper BR and both bedrooms upstairs. My daughter took pics and we drove to Rental office and talked with them and showed pics. They sent a maintenance man to fix clean the grill only, we asked him to look at the other issues. He was not told & called in.
  In my profession, excellent customer service is a must! I was surprised that the property managers did not call me to see if things got taken care of. Honestly, someone should have contacted me and offered to credit my bill for the inconvenience during our stay, but nobody has done that. A guest paying $350 a nite should never have their stay inconvenienced such as this.
  Also, there are quite a few phones in the house, they rang late one night, and at 7:00 am Sunday morning. Not something you appreciate!

  Beautiful two level home with beautiful views, but probably better suited to adults or families with teenage children rather than our group of adults and younger children. One adult always had to be downstairs to watch the kids (around the pool table and bar) when they were playing games, watching tv or a movie. Our only big complaint about this house would be the beds... they were old and very uncomfortable. We were all pretty achy by the end of our stay. The staff at BBE were, as always, outstanding.
