Bearings is a 3 bedroom 3 bathroom pet friendly home with a $75 pet fee. Bodega Harbour South - Sit on the front deck and enjoy a panoramic view of Point Reyes, Tomales Bay and Bodega Head, spectacular! Bearings is a wonderful home for entertaining, very comfortable, open and light with amazing views. Features a large flat screen TV,, satellite, DVD, stereo system, gas fireplace in the living room and the master bedroom. Well appointed kitchen, and tastefully decorated home, small front courtyard and nice deck and yard area out back. Just a quick walk to the head of scenic Short Tail Gulch beach trail. Come enjoy the view, relax for a few days and get your bearings.

  Opening the front door to Bearings with a 180 view of the ocean is an amazing first impression. The spacious open living area and master bedroom share that view which is ever changing with big skies and tides. We absolutely loved the comfy furniture and well designed bedroom layout. The house is well located on the edge of Bodega Harbour and feels totally private. The kitchen is nicely outfitted with plenty of dishes and when we couldn't find the all important corkscrew, Bodega Escapes brought one right over. We would come back again without hesitation.   We have stayed in a ton of rental houses along the Northern Calif coast; Bodega Bay, Dillon Beach, Santa Cruz and Sea Ranch, and this place is amazing! We are a family that loves to cook, has 2 young children that are very active and a dog.
  
  The view will knock you off your feet when you enter the house, the floor plan is open and very spacious and the furniture if all comfy. For someone who loves to cook and hates to have stuff out on the counter the kitchen is amazing, all the tools you need to cook plus tons of cabinet space to store all the food we brought without having to reorganize anything!
  
  All beds were comfy, the king in the master was probably the most comfortable for a rental I have ever slept on. Having access to the garage was also nice as the kids would have glow stick dance parties in it and we didn't hear their singing or music.
  With a dog the front patio area that is fully fenced was a blessing as we did not need to put him on a leash to take him potty.
  
  Everything was very clean and well maintained, would love to stay here again soon!

  Bearings is our favorite house in Bodega Bay. The view is amazing!
  
  The property was clean but there were a few things that could be updated: the courtyard and front lawn are very overgrown and in need of trimming, the toaster is broken, the refrigerator needs updating (every time the refrigerator is opened the freezer pops open and the freezer smells), and the beds could use new sheets.
  
  We enjoyed our walks to the beach and around the neighborhood and the trips to town. We will definitely be back!

  We rented this home for a month and loved every minute. Beautiful panoramic ocean view and each bedroom,has it's own bathroom. We have stayed here many times before and thoroughly enjoy each visit. There were a few maintenance issues that needed attention and we know Bodega Bay Escapes staff will take care of those as the staff are great to work with. Bodega Bay is our favorite place to vacation--especially enjoy Gourmet Au Bay, Eastshore Outfitters, Captain Dave's coffee shop, Tides and Lucas Wharf restaurants. And don't miss the Wildflower bakery in nearby Freestone!

  We have gone to the Bearings House a few times now. First couple times were just weekend getaways. This time was for a whole 7 days. LOVED IT!!
  
  The staff at Bodega Bay Escapes really have it going on!! Making the reservation was an absolute breeze. Pam and Mike and everyone there are just so fabulous. So very "casually professional" to coin a phrase. All were very accomodating and ever so RESPONSIVE to all and any queries and/or needs.
  
  The house: Absolutely LOVE this property. Views to die for. All hardwood floors which were great for our allergies. Comfortable furniture. All the boxes are chekced with this rental. We had some audiovisual issues this stay but nothing could have taken away from the overall experience.

  We have been going to this place now for a few years. I think the first and most important part of the experience is the group of people who you get to work with at BBE. Just wonderful folks who really go out of their way (from day 1) to make every stay special. We had fate arrange for us to stay our second night in our all time favorite Bearings House. I honestly do not want to go on like I should about this property because I don't necessarily want a bunch of folks occupying it in the weekends that we want to go!! Suffice it to say, we absolutely love the time spent in Bodega Bay and really don't want to stay in any other home!!!

Only one small thing, there is a very small step going from the living area to bedrooms, floors all the same color. We solved this by posting a sign on the floor saying watch it.

  Fantastic house, great location and an excellent view.

  Bodega Bay Escapes was a pleasant company to deal with. We had a couple of small concerns that were dealt with timely and professionally.
  Only negative I can think of is the linen can use an update. Especially the kitchen towels.
  Also, if you feel like a hike to a nice beach with very few people, the trail starts close to the house. The master suite in this house is really nice!
  If you are fortunate enough to spend 7 nights there, as we did, I am confident you will not regrete it.

  Renting a home so our family could spend time together was our Christmas gift to our children. We could not have chosen a finer home (3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, beautifully appointed/workable kitchen). We took walks, played board games, cooked together. The view of Bodega Bay was so calming and restorative. We were initially thinking of rescheduling because of the recent spate of heavy rain, but it turned out there was only one section of road that was flooded that we had to make a detour around. We were so glad we made the trip. The staff was very friendly and helpful, offering maps and DVDs. It is a perfect get away, near SF but a world away. Our kids said they hoped this would be a new tradition. We hope so, too.
  Another nice thing: we had lunch at Occidental on the way home. Also there is a fantastic bakery (Wildflower) on the road to Sebastopol that we will revisit in the near future. Delicious organic savory and sweet breads and scones.

  Bearings has an incredible view with the wide open windows. We had a great time at bearings walking around the area and its great they also allowed dogs. I will say the appliances need to be replaced as the dishwasher kept turning on accidentally and the freezer door had special directions for closing. Other than that, we would stay here again.

There should be a drape or curtain on the sliding door to the deck to protect people from the sun in the afternoon when your sitting at the table.   We had a wonderful stay at the Bearings house. We were immediately impressed with the beautiful views as soon as we walked into the house. It has a very nice open feel and is tastefully decorated. The kitchen was fairly well stocked and we liked the fact that it is open to the living area so that you can talk to your friends while you're cooking and enjoy the beautiful views as well. The house is generally clean and spacious. Only a few minor negative details: A lot of the dishes and silverwares were not completely clean and had to be washed before we used them, would have been nice if there was a hot tub from which to enjoy the gorgeous views, the hot water pressure from one of the sinks in the master bathroom was very poor - it came out only in a small drizzle. Nevertheless, these are minor details and we would definitely come back to this house next time we are in Bodega Bay. We recommend this house if you would like to spend a relaxing weekend in Bodega Bay in a beautiful location with amazing views.

  5 of us girls arrived to the rental early evening on Saturday. it was pretty cloudy when we got there but as soon as we drove up to the house and walked towards the door, my girlfriends and I screamed with excitement because we could see straight through the beautiful property and out at the ocean. While some would find that a bit creepy that the house was almost all glass, the property seemed incredibly safe and anything less than wall to wall windows wouldve done the views a huge disservice.
  
  The rooms were also beautiful except that 2 of them were well lit and the other (with the twin beds) seemed dark and small. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms were large enough for a bunch of girls to get ready in. We had a great time cooking in the large kitchen and it was even more convenient that it opened up to the dining area and the living area so we were never too far away from the party.
  
  Some of us we were a brisk run in the morning and further enjoyed the views. Cannot say enough about the views and the fresh air here!
  
  If i had a gripe though (and it was a big one) it would have to be the ANT PROBLEM! I get the occasional spider or ant here and there but there was a full out war between man and ant the whole weekend! One fo my friends had to share with another because 1 of the twin beds was covered in ants. The kitchen counters had the same issues. This was incredibly off putting when we were trying to cook or SLEEP! I notified the office so hopefully something is done about this.
  
  Other than the ants though, this was a perfect property!

  Our group has been staying at The Bearings house for five years and we like the location, the overall cleanliness and maintenance, and the staff at Bodega Bay Escapes has always been very helpful.
  
  There are a few items that need attention:
  
  The coatrack on the wall in the entry hall has been broken for at least 4
  years. The pegs fallout with any coat so it is unusable. Please replace it
  
  There are several broken lamps in the twin bedroom and garage. We need more bedside lights. The indirect lighting in the living room is not.bright enough to read by. We would like more lamps for reading. Now there is only one and six of us.
  
  The front door has always been very difficult to open and especially hard to close. We would like to have six placemats, some salt and some pot holders. The house used to be very well equipped five years ago and every year it has become less so.
  
  We will continue to use Bearings for our yearly retreat and enjoy all of its wonderful amenities.

  Bearings was in a beautiful area overlooking Bodega Bay. The house had a wonderful layout for out family. Our minor complaints were having hard twin beds in the third bedroom, the garage needed cleaning, and some of the dishes were dirty in the cupboard. We loved the view, the animals (saw a bobcat with it's baby, and dolphins just below the cliffs)' the town, the foghorns, and the area. To our surprise; we didn't realize that August was a very foggy time in Bodega Bay. We would love to come back in September/October for Indian Summer. We would highly recommend renting from Bodega Bay Escapes again. We hope to come back soon!

  Last year there were 6 of us, this year there were 7 of us. This year we felt cramped. The house is well maintained and clean.
  Last year we had trouble with the front door lock and we had trouble with it again this year, even with instructions it was a challenge.
  All in all we enjoyed ourselves but would have enjoyed it more without the TV and front door issues.
